Overview of the Summer Program

The Yale Entrepreneurial Institute wrapped up its inaugural program in early August with 8 student companies pitching to a panel of venture capitalists. Fellows were able to network with over 50 speakers and gain invaluable experience. 2 student companies have received funding and are now looking for space in New Haven to locate their ventures. One venture is filing for a patent on a joint invention with a Yale faculty member

Fostering start-ups and create value in the Yale-New Haven community

While Yale has long been known for new company startups arising out of University research and faculty ideas, it has now increased its efforts to systematically encourage and promote the ideas of its student population, including events and programs that address best practices in the fundamentals of new venture formation.

Given the increasingly important role of small companies in value creation, Yale has an opportunity to not only foster entrepreneurial thinking among its student population, but to also offer guidance on a wide range of startup issues including marketing, finance, business model development and team building...

Summer Fellowship

An exciting summer opportunity for budding Yale entrepreneurs

The YEI Summer Fellowship Program is a selective 10-week summer institute based in New Haven. During those weeks, selected undergraduate and graduate students will be exposed to a wide variety of activities and perspectives ranging from entrepreneurial education to high-profile speakers and networking opportunities. In addition, participants will be part of a small, cohesive community of budding entrepreneurs, professionals, and interested faculty - a group which will share ideas, skills, and advice...
